Privacy & your data
Football Fan Forum is an independent, fan-run survey. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sanctioned by FIFA, any confederation, or any member association.
This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and how you get rid of it.
What we collect
Two things, and nothing else:
- Your email address and password — collected when you register
- Your survey answers — your nationality, your trust score, your two ranked lists, and your two answers on an independent review
We do not collect your name, your date of birth, your location, your IP address for tracking, or anything about your device. There are no advertising trackers on this site and no analytics following you around the web.
Why we need your email address
Only to keep one set of answers per person. Without it, anyone could submit a thousand responses and the results would be worthless.
Your email address is never published, never shown in results, and never shared, sold, or rented to anyone, for any reason.
How your answers stay anonymous
Your answers are linked to your account so that you can update or delete them. But the published results contain only totals — response counts, average scores, and rankings, grouped by country.
How long we keep it
Your answers stay until you delete them, or until the survey closes. When the survey closes, individual responses are deleted and only the aggregate results are kept.
Deleting your data
You can remove everything yourself, at any time, without asking anyone:
- Sign in at footballfanforum.org
- Click My data in the header
- Type DELETE to confirm
This permanently erases your account, your email address, and your survey answers. Your response is removed from the published results, including your country's totals. It cannot be undone, though you're welcome to register again afterwards.
Your rights
If you're in the UK, EU, or another region with data protection laws, you have rights to access, correct, and erase your data. The delete button above exercises the erasure right immediately and in full. For anything else, use the contact route below.
Who we share it with
Nobody. Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties.
The survey runs on three service providers who process data on our behalf: Netlify (hosting), Supabase (database and accounts), and Resend (sending the confirmation email). They cannot use your data for their own purposes.
Cookies
The site stores a sign-in session in your browser so you don't have to sign in repeatedly. That's all. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics.
Security, honestly
Passwords are stored securely by Supabase and never visible to us. That said, this is a small independent project rather than a bank — please use a password you don't use anywhere important.
Contact
This survey is run independently by a football supporter, not an organisation. If you have a question about your data, or want it removed and the button hasn't worked for you, get in touch and it will be dealt with promptly.
Emails go to a real person, not an inbox nobody reads. Expect a reply within a few days.
Changes to this page
If what we collect ever changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
